Italian Sausage Stuffing

My Mother in Law makes this casserole every holiday and it's my personal favorite stuffing! Best in the West!

Ingredients:
1 cup; butter (2 sticks)

1 cup; white onion, finely chopped

1 cup; celery, finely chopped

1 1/2 cups; chicken broth

1 box = 16oz; Mrs. Cubbison's Herb Seasoned Cube Stuffing

1 pound Spicy or Sweet Italian Sausage, about 6 links (casings removed) – We used spicy sausage from Claro’s in Upland, CA.

Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large saucepan, melt butter on medium heat, sauté vegetables until translucent.
  • In a different pan, separate and heat sausage with casing removed until golden brown.
  • Combine stuffing mix and sausage; stir in liquid gradually and blend lightly.
  • Place stuffing in greased casserole dish, cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Uncover last 15 minutes for crisper top.

  1. Just realized I needed a 'Potluck' style dish for a party in 3 hours. Quickly scrolled through your recipes and decided to make this one.

Thanks for so many great posts.
