I’ve always been a fan of a simple steak marinated with salt
and pepper with a dollop of butter on top. The butter melts and the medium rare
steak is perfectly barbecued. Then you add a slice of bacon around the outside
of the steak. Oh my. Take from this what you wish. Everyone has their favorite
way to enjoy their steak. This is just one of our favorite ways. We also love
peppercorn sauce. And we love homemade BBQ sauce or a delicious tri-tip with Chimichurri
sauce. We bought the baseball cut New York Sirloin steak from Sprouts for $8.99
per pound. This one was 0.67 pounds.
Ingredients for
Steak:
Your favorite cut of steak
Olive oil
Salt
Pepper
Slice of bacon
Ingredients for
Garlic Butter:
1 tablespoon of real butter
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 teaspoon Worchestire sauce
Directions:
Rub in a little olive oil, salt and pepper all over your
favorite cut of steak
Cut a small hole in the middle but not all the way through
and shove the garlic butter into the hole
Wrap a slice of bacon around the edge of the steak and use
one toothpick to hold it on by puncturing into the meat through the bacon on
both ends
Heat up your barbecue to medium heat
Place your steak on the grill and heat for roughly 5 minutes
until it gets seared on the one side.
Depending on how you like your steak
cooked, flip it and cook on the opposite side for about 3 minutes. You can
slowly lay the steak on all sides to crisp up the bacon
Remove toothpick and serve with your favorite side dish. We love mashed potatoes or
bacon wrapped baked potatoes
