Jack Daniel's Marinade

Perfect blend of sweet and salty! Because of the green onions, soy sauce, and brown sugar this marinade almost gives a Korean dipping sauce effect.

Ingredients:

¼ cup Jack Daniel’s Whiskey

¼ cup soy sauce

¼ cup Dijon-style mustard

¼ cup minced green onions and tops (about 4 whole chives)

¼ cup firmly packed light brown sugar

1 tsp. salt

Dash of Worcestershire sauce

Pepper to taste

Directions:

Combine all ingredients. Blend well. Use to marinade shrimp or scallops for 1 hour prior to cooking or beef, chicken, or pork in the refrigerator overnight. Use to base the shellfish or meat as it is grilled or broiled

I marinated my shrimp for one hour prior to putting them on skewers and barbecuing them for about 3 minutes per side. You can add additional marinade afterwards or serve it on the side to drizzle as you go after prepping your plate. This salad included romaine lettuce, slices of avocado, corn, and a tablespoon of sour cream

Makes about 1 ¼ cups
